Gyrotonic Expansion System was created by Juliu Horvath; a former professional ballet dancer and yogi. After his dance career was cut short by injury,Juliu moved to the virgin Islands and undertook an extensive study and practice of kundalini yoga to deal with his pain and agony. Through yoga Juliu developed Gyrokinesis (formerly known as yoga for dancers) and the Gyrotonic expansion system. He returned to New york and opened his first studio called White Cloud in 1982.
